The role:
Epic is seeking for a FTTH Design Engineer who will have the ownership for the city-wide design and planning of new FTTH passed areas and customer connections.
Responsibilities:
· Design and oversee design of agreed fibre architectures to satisfy city design (FTTH)
· Forecast CAPEX and OPEX requirements of designed infrastructure projects
· Deliver short, medium and long-term forecasts for all network components
· Surveying of target areas & Sites collecting GIS data
· Applying for infrastructure sharing
· Creating and follow-up Wayleaves (RoW) procedure as per infrastructure needs
· Creating construction “to-build” designs to be sent in Work Orders & generating respective BoMs, assuring on-time delivery of the equipment, quality of works and budget control
· Create new fiber links & splice reports and keep the Fiber GIS software up to date
· Apply rigor to data quality within GIS, inventory data and customer management systems
· Drive consistency, quality, suitability and cost-effectiveness
· Work with Vendor relationships in regards securing a repeatable supply chain
· Coordinate any changes to the design
· Perform regular site supervision to ensure quality, design and performance
Qualifications, Skills & experience:
- University degree in Telecoms, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Topography, GIS
- Knowledge of GIS and CAD tools
· Experience with manipulating data and metadata underpinning a civils and fibre design in a FTTH context
· Detailed understanding of all aspects of civils route planning in a FTTH context
· Detailed understanding of all aspects of fibre networks and fiber planning
· Knowledge and understanding of PON architecture, FTTH methodologies and design
· Understanding of Cyprus authorities regulations in respect to Telecom & civil engineering works
· Ability to liaise and build relations with the authorities, vendors, contractors and partners
· Ability to understand and produce detailed industry-standard level of survey, installation and as-built documentation
· Ability to identify engineering risks and associated solutions
· Be commercially and financially aware
- Full driving license
