This constructions and procurement services company in Limassol is looking for a Purchasing Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable prices
- Negotiate contracts on behalf of the company
- Work out agreements with suppliers, such as when products will be delivered
- valuate and monitor contracts to be sure that vendors and supplies comply with the terms and conditions of the contract and to determine the need for changes
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
- Maintain and review records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories
- Attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn about new industry trends and make contacts with suppliers
- Meet with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action
- Ensures that all purchasing is in compliance with regulations and laws related to purchasing practices
- Reviews tenders and purchase award documentation with respect to quality, suitability, delivery and pricing
- Prepares technical specifications for request for proposals, including terms and conditions and evaluation criteria
- Prepares and develops bid documents and supplier bid lists to obtain competitive quotations in construction products and services
- Keeps constantly apprised of economic / business situations as they affect purchasing policy; makes recommendations to adequately meet those changing conditions
- Analyzes current procurement activities and recommends improvement through more efficient procurement methods, quantity discounts, standardization, value analysis and cooperative purchasing
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the above field
- Excellent Greek and English language skills both oral and verbal
- A practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking
- A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
- Negotiation and team work skills and the ability to motivate and lead those on site
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Have the ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
- A good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
The working hours are 8:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday
The company is offering a salary of 1,500 Euros gross
